The percentages are a share of that row's own visitors, never of all your traffic — which is what makes a small day and a busy one comparable. Read a row across for how one day's arrivals faded, and a column down for whether that is getting better or worse. Day 0 is always 100% — it is the cohort itself. A dot means that day has not happened yet for that cohort. The shading is only the same number drawn, so the shape of the grid reads before any single figure does.
